Mhairi's background is in higher education and small business. She worked at Glasgow Caledonian University as a Lecturer in Hospitality & Marketing and she had a property development business in Scotland and the USA.
Mhairi has volunteered with Badminton Scotland for many years, including managing the hospitality suite at two world championships.
She has played pickleball for 15 years, having caught the bug whilst holidaying in Florida.
Prof. Nanette Mutrie MBE
Education & Training
Nanette is Professor of Physical Activity for Health at the University of Edinburgh and directs the Physical Activity for Health Research centre there. She has extensive experience of conducting interventions aimed at increasing physical activity and was awarded an MBE in 2015 for services to physical activity for health.
Nanette is a very keen pickleball player, transferring her skills from international squash into the game!
Steph's background is in accountancy and project management for global companies and the further education sector. She has been on the board of many organisations, including Badminton Scotland Events and Ocean Youth Trust. Steph has also volunteered at many major badminton events, including four world championships.
Steph has been playing pickleball for 10 years and is excited to be part of a brand new association.
Participation & Capacity Building
Maureen's background is in Property , Self build, Conversions, Renovations, Project Management and Management of a successful Letting Agency. Her previous sporting activities include Hockey Badminton and Football. She started playing Pickleball 5 years ago is The Chair a Glasgow Pickleball club and is an ITPTA Level 2 teaching professional.
Media & Communications
Adriana spent 41 years working for the NHS, where she helped to set up the Greater Glasgow Pharmacy Distribution Centre. She managed the IT and automated systems which included 45 staff and 9 robots!
Adriana has volunteered at the 2017 Badminton World Championships and at the 2018 European Championships. She loves being retired because she can play lots of pickleball!
David's background is in running a specialist disabled access company for the last 20years, prior to that he was a professional photographer.
Being a comparatively new Pickleball player David brings an experience of racket sports to Pickleball Scotland. David has been a keen tennis player since the age of 8 and has volunteered for many different roles with tennis at a local and national level.
He has been President of Tennis Scotland and was Lawn Tennis Association Councilor for Scotland.
He has also volunteered at the Commonwealth Games and is on the European Pickleball Federation Board.
Sharon's background is in education and major sports events. She is a Teaching Fellow in Physical Education at the University of Edinburgh and has been involved with major badminton events since 2007, when she volunteered at the World Team Championships. Since then she has both volunteered and worked at major events, including Olympic, Commonwealth and European Games.
